Some musicians change the way you hear music. Jeff Beck was one of them.

“JB’s Groove” is a track I co-wrote with David Garfield as a tribute to Jeff — to his fearless approach to the guitar, his refusal to repeat himself, and the way he could make an instrument sound like a human voice. When Jeff passed in January 2023, it felt like the world lost one of the few guitarists who truly had no boundaries. This song is our way of honoring that legacy.

David Garfield is a world-class keyboardist and producer who has played and recorded with some of the greatest names in music — George Benson, Lee Ritenour, Freddie Hubbard, and many more. When David reached out about writing a tribute to Jeff Beck together, I didn’t think twice. This is someone whose musical world I deeply admire, and the chance to collaborate was an honor.

On drums: Steve Ferrone. From Average White Band to Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers to Eric Clapton, Steve brings a groove that is entirely his own — effortless, powerful, and always musical. Having him on this track felt exactly right for a song that pays tribute to Jeff Beck.
